LAPC #164 – Looking Up and Down

When do you find yourself looking up or down and be amazed? #LAPC #naturephotography

I love cable cars!
I love watching the skies, too!
When the plane is landing, I love looking down at the ocean…
and see the clouds merge with mountains and seas.

Isn’t the wonder of the creation of the Lord, just amazing?

I love this theme!

Lens-Artists Challenge #133 – My Photography Attempts

Fully Booked, High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Philippines

This is my favorite bookstore, and when I saw this wall, I thought it was a photograph. It turns out, those are books piled on top each other and formed as such. So, I had to take a photo.

UpLift, UP Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines

For the uninitiated, the University of the Philippines is a premier university here in the Philippines, and the university has a statue that serves as its iconic symbol called The Oblation. The oblation was a work of art by Guillermo Tolentino, a Filipino sculptor. Then several years later, Ferdinand Cacnio, a visual artist graduate from the university, created a so-called female Oblation with the hashtag #UPLift.

Iloilo River, Iloilo City, Philippines

I took this shot while I was on top of the city hall. The river is so clean and I just to take a shot.

The Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Manila, Philippines

Isn’t this church a beauty? It is popularly called Manila Cathedral. It was established by the secular priest Juan de Vivero in 1571.

UP Diliman | June 24, 2017

The Carillon Tower

It is the first in the country (Philippines). Built in the campus of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, the Carillon is a 130-foot structure that originally housed 46 bronze bells cast by Van Bergen Bell, Chimes and Carillon Foundry of Holland.

Architect Juan Felipe de Jesus Nakpil, the first National Artist for Architecture, designed and supervised its construction.

Today, the Carillon bells peal the time of day every hour and plays well-known Filipino and UP songs at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.

The carillon will communicate to the whole the campus that work can start and end for the day.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #99: Old and New

My 2-year-old me, My 40-year-old self, & My 50-year-old I

Three generations of myself in one photo, showcasing the old (but young) and new (but old) me. I’d like to tell her, you got it gurl!
Our island home | Larena, Siquijor

I spent my summer childhood here. It used to be all old (antique) furniture but as time passed, new (modern) furniture like that couch sofa is thrown into the mix.
Old and new, but it is still my home.
